RVers Packing Guide Part Two: Outdoor Accessories
In part one of our series, we wanted to make sure you wouldn't go hungry or be naked on your camping weekend.
In Part Two of our RVers packing series we want to focus on what you may want to bring for setting up outside your trailer, because the weather is going to be gorgeous so most of your time will be spent outside anyway.
Everything you need for outside your trailer
If you plan on eating outside make sure to grab a tablecloth. This will give you a clean eating surface on a picnic or fold up table (speaking of...it is worth looking into if your site has a picnic table or if you need to bring a fold up one). Don't forget clips for the tablecloth so it is secured and doesn't keep trying to blow away either!
At some point the sun is going to go down, what light source will you use while you are sitting outside in the evening? Awning lights are great, lanterns and flashlights are also handy options because they are portable if you need to walk around
What's a camping trip without a campfire? You'll need matches, firewood (which you can always pickup at campground), fire starters are a great way to get the fire going and a hatchet helps make a bit of kindling from your wood pile. Most importantly though, marshmallows, graham crackers, chocolate, hot dogs and pokers will be required and any other campfire snacks you plan on cooking
Will your awning be the only outdoor rain cover? If you want to expand your cover from rain or even get more shade, some tarp and rope can be used to provide more cover against the elements
What will you be sitting on outside? And probably more important, where will your drink and snacks go? Fold up chairs will be useful for lounging around and sitting by the campfire, and side tables are great for holding snacks and drinks
Games, games, games! You can never bring too many games to play outside while camping. Cards, dominoes, baseball and corn hole are all classics but there are a ton of fun games you can play while enjoying the outdoors
Part Three of our series is going to look at a few items you should always bring with you just in case - including our list of items you probably didn't think of!
