When Cy and Helen Parks bought a family tent trailer in 1959, little did they know what they really started. The trailer was parked in their front yard on highway 8 when not in use just outside of Stratford. Travelers frequently stopped by to see if the trailer was for sale or for rent. After enough inquires, Helen decided to sell trailers and accessories out the garage in 1962 and Camp-Out RV was born.
For the next 27 years, Cy and Helen continued to operate and grow Camp-Out RV. The family business had no set hours,opening at dawn and closing at dusk, but it would be closed for supper everyday from 5:00pm - 6:30pm. Over the years Cy and Helen received a lot of interesting trade ins, including Snoopy, who became the family dog.
In 1989, Cy and Helen's son Sam and wife Debbi returned to Stratford and in 1992 they took over Camp-Out RV
In 2000 Camp-Out RV was ready for expansion. What started as a family business has now grown to over 20 employees. Camp-Out RV expanded by adding a service shop and more offices.
In 2015, Sam Parks was recognized as the Ontario & Canadian RV Dealer of the Year. Sam was also elected as the new RVDA of Canada Chairman in 2015.
In 2018 Camp-Out RV introduced a second location. The old Camp-Out RV store remained as the Sales and Rentals store. The new location would feature a much larger parts and service store.
